It had been too long, another writing prompt.
Tonight’s writing prompt is: «It had been too long» by @writingprompt on

«It had been too long since I last opened the container. The swift and
comforting smell came out as I cracked the lid open, and filled the room
with warmth. The strong aroma was so intense that it made me gag. I am not
used to such strong flavors anymore. I slant the metallic container, and
pour its contents into the brewing machine. I start turning the lever
around, and aroud, and around, taking pleasure in reducing all those grains
to dust with my own power, freeing a little bit more of the smell in the
air, saturating it even more than it is already. At the same time, I hear
beside me the whistle of the kettle, telling me that the water is bubbling,
and almost boiling. I must finish quickly, before the water boils, or else
my timing will be off. Please God, let me achieve this, if I achieve only
one thing in my whole life. Suddenly, the sound of the grinder becomes
hollow, void of substance. I open the top part, and see that all that’s
left is a single grain. I place it in the wheel, and pop it with a quarter
turn. Everything is now powder. I carefully measure up four table spoons of
the brown magnificence, and place them in the path of the just starting
vapor stream coming from the one-purpose kettle. A brown liquid falls into
my cup. I pour sugar, and a cloud of milk, before sipping. Hmm. Perfect
coffee.»
